in the trenches

It’s been a mild fall so I’m here to help you make the transition from fall to winter. The easiest approach is by adding a layers for those cooler nights. My personal favorite is the trench coat. They add a polished touch to any outfit when layered over a sweater, turtle neck or collared shirt.

If you’ve been reading this site closely, you’ll notice that I’m big on versatility in my wardrobe. The best thing about a trench coat is being able to dress it up with a shoe, dress it down with a sneaker or utilize it in the rainy weather!

get the boot

With the autumn season approaching, it’s time to start searching for that perfect pair of boots. My favorite silhouette this season is the western inspired boot. These boots are the perfect alternative to a stiletto heel because they sit on a block heel allowing for comfort and versatility.

sunnies

The one accessory that does not go out of season, sunglasses! While I love luxury designer shades, (I mean who doesn’t?!) there are plenty of brands that are easy on the pockets and super stylish. Here are 3 of my favorites:

bang bang.

At least once a year I get the urge to cut bangs and I usually go through with it at one point or another. I think I am starting to get the bang bug now that it is winter but this year I think I want to change it up.  Big hair and volume is my thing, I think flat hair is very sleek, but it gets boring. Lately, I’ve been super obsessed with vintage Brigitte Bardot hair, a long waved bang swooped off to the side toward spiraled tendrils at the ear. It’s a great alternative to traditional bangs and less of a commitment. The hair isn’t as short and defined  as a fringe but instead is curled and swiped off to the side allowing the hair to grow back a lot faster.

Check out some looks below:

If even long bangs are too much of a commitment for you, check out this tutorial on faux bangs below:

In case you’ve been living under a rock or slammed all day at work, you know that we’re getting a new N.E.R.D album! Judging by the artwork, the title is going to be ‘No_one Ever Really Dies’. The news definitely shocked many since most of us thought we’d never see the day. Definitely looking forward to hearing that N.E.R.D sound again in 2017. In the meantime, check out the new single featuring Rihanna titled ‘Lemon’. The song features a 2015 viral clip of Retchy P that introduces Rihanna’s verse. Check it out and watch the music video below:
