At least once a year I get the urge to cut bangs and I usually go through with it at one point or another. I think I am starting to get the bang bug now that it is winter but this year I think I want to change it up. Big hair and volume is my thing, I think flat hair is very sleek, but it gets boring. Lately, I’ve been super obsessed with vintage Brigitte Bardot hair, a long waved bang swooped off to the side toward spiraled tendrils at the ear. It’s a great alternative to traditional bangs and less of a commitment. The hair isn’t as short and defined as a fringe but instead is curled and swiped off to the side allowing the hair to grow back a lot faster.

Culottes are any garment which looks and hangs like a calf length skirt (not to be confused with palazzo pants which flow down to the foot), but is split down the middle and actually pants. Back in the Victorian times, these long wide legged pants were made so women could everyday things such as horseback riding, gardening, riding bikes, etc without the inconvenience and limitations of an actual skirt. Culottes have definitely made a comeback as does everything. A vintage look with a modern twist.
These pants are practical for just about anything as they give the illusion of a skirt yet the flexibility of a pant. Check out some looks below: Continue reading “styling: culottes”
If you have eyes and the slightest bit of fashion sense, you’ve noticed that the 90’s are back, at least they’ve been back for a few years now. From flannel shirts down to the plastic tattoo choker, the reemergence of the decade is here to stay a while. One piece that you’re likely to see every designer take their spin on next spring is the slip dress. Kate Moss was one of the faces of the slip dress in the 90’s but Rihanna has been wearing them all around town this fall, dressing the silhouette up or down. She has been wearing a lot of (what seems to be) bedroom wear lately so the comeback was pretty inevitable. As they are super versatile, trying to pull them off can be overwhelming. Here are a few ideas to help you pull it off below.
